Black History Month Candlelight Stories

About
Candlelight Stories is a free Black History Month celebration in Spruce Grove that brings the Tri-Community together through storytelling, live performance, food, music, dance and culture.
At the heart of the event are children and youth sharing stories of Black Canadian history, resilience, achievement and the people who helped shape our communities. Through powerful stories and vibrant performances, Candlelight Stories creates an opportunity to learn, celebrate and connect while experiencing Black history in a meaningful and memorable way.
Attend
Come experience an evening of Black history, culture and community through youth storytelling, live music, dance, performances and food.
Bring your family, invite your friends and come celebrate the stories, achievements and cultural traditions that continue to shape Canada.
Admission is free, but registration is required.
Volunteer
Be part of the team that brings Candlelight Stories to life.
Volunteers help welcome guests, support activities and performers, assist with event setup and create a warm experience for families and community members.
It is also a great opportunity to meet new people, gain community experience and contribute to a meaningful Black History Month celebration.
Vendor
Showcase your business, products or community services while connecting with families and community members attending Candlelight Stories.
We welcome local businesses, makers, artists, community organizations and vendors offering products, services or resources that complement the spirit of the event.
Vendor tables are $50.
Perform
Bring your talent to the Candlelight Stories stage.
We are looking for singers, musicians, dancers, poets, spoken-word artists, drummers and other performers who can help us celebrate Black culture, creativity and community.
Performers of different ages and experience levels are encouraged to apply, with opportunities for both emerging and established talent.
